Training

Our in-depth knowledge and experience about how to develop applications means we are perfectly placed to train members of your staff. We can offer two types of training; classroom and developer mentoring.

Classroom training occurs when there are three or more candidates. The classroom can be one we arrange or if you have the facilities training can be done on-site. Candidates will generally receive a copy of the training notes and any slides used. We specialise more in courses geared towards database usage such as Access and SQL Server. We also teach application development with Visual Basic, VBA or ASP. In addition, we have created strategic links with another training company. This means we are able to offer high level analysis and development courses using RUP, UML, Rational products (such as Rational Rose) and languages such as Delphi and Visual Basic. Please contact us for more details about these and other classroom courses.

Mentoring takes place on a one to one or maximum of two-candidate basis. It is usually more effective than classroom based training for the simple reason that your staff are able to work on problems they are actively experiencing under expert supervision. Training takes place at your workplace sitting next to the staff member. Generally, your staff members will have already started to learn how to develop and will have reached a stage where they are at the limit of their experience. By spending just a day with them, we can generally advance their knowledge significantly forward about how to structure applications, common pitfalls and improving techniques. Please contact us if you are interested about training your staff in this way.
